Have you ever walked into my office and wondered what those delicious smells are? The feeling of peace, calm, and clarity?

Every morning before I begin my day with clients, I take 30 minutes to prepare my office and set up the energy for the day. I actually use the same technology as the Ancient Mayans. I light the Copal and bless the entire office.

Copal is considered scared throughout Mexico and Central America. It has been used in ceremonies for purification and as medicine for centuries. This pure and unprocessed Copal has been harvested from trees in the Yucatán peninsula in Mexico. It may contain some leaves and bark. Burning a small amount you will experience the uplifting clean woody scent of citrus and pine.

Depending on my mood, I may accompany the Copal with Palo Santo or “Holy Wood” which is a wild tree that grows in the dry forests of Ecuador and other tropical regions of the Americas. Its wood, leaves, and oil have been used for centuries by indigenous shamans to heal the body and soul.

Benefits of burning Palo Santo include:

  • Cleansing and purifying energy
  • Promoting relaxation and stress relief
  • Enhancing spiritual connection and meditation
  • Clearing negative energy and promoting positive vibes
  • Bringing a sense of peace and tranquility

Both the Copal tree resin and Holy Wood were used in cleansing rituals, and it has a very uplifting, clear, woodsy scent. I fell in love with this combo when it was used on me by the Mayan Shamen in Mexico.

Can’t make it to the jungles of Mexico? I have these amazing tools at my office in Folsom. It’s just one of the many treats you’ll experience here! You can also order your own directly from Rituals Incense to use in your home and create a sacred space.
