There are so many BAD things to be addicted to these days: drugs, alcohol, sex, porn, shopping, and SUGAR!! Yep, I said it – SUGAR ADDICTION. It’s a thing. Time to get serious and have a look at your behavior around sugar. Write it down, calculate it – does it start in the morning with your coffee creamer? In your breakfast cereal (garbage carbs) and milk (turns to sugar)? Don’t get me started on dairy products! Even the health-minded people who eat protein bars… yup, sugar.
Is it emotional? Do you soothe your feelings with sweets? Are you a happy sugar person who just loves to bake and eat it? (guilty) Learn to bake differently! (Baking classes coming soon!)
Sugar has many faces and can be disguised as:
Notice if any grain has the word ‘syrup’ behind it, or the word ends in ‘ose’. Obviously, anything saying ‘sugar’. Condiments like ketchup and BBQ Sauce have not only sugar, but some contain gluten as well! Beware of sports drinks, baked beans, yogurt (even the non-dairy kinds), and bananas! They are naturally high in carbs and sugar. Starchy garbage really. Sorry folks!
Check that label in your favorite protein shake mix too: whey protein (sugar) and SUGAR! You can break up with your sugar-containing shake mixes and replace them. I highly recommend these shake mixes instead:
No sugar, dairy, or gluten. Just ground up whole goodness!
To begin the process of breaking up with sugar, you need to know where and how much you are consuming. Bridge the gap if you must, baby steps.
Start by ditching the bad sugars, replace them with the more natural ones, and you can eventually back away from all the sugars. Use Organic Maple Syrup, Coconut Sugar, Sucanat, Monk Fruit, Stevia, and even Agave nectar. These are still sugars, but WAY less offensive.
The struggle is real, so if you need some assistance with the sugar cravings, I highly recommend Gymnema! It will ruin the taste of sugar and curb those cravings.
Do you have insulin resistance, diabetes, or pre-diabetes, or just need some guidance? TSA Syndro-x, TSA HHDan, and TSA MyHeart can help.
Sugar is the devil, and yet the average American consumes about 152 pounds of it per year! That’s literally eating your body weight in sugar. Read the labels, know the hidden pitfalls of sugar addiction. If you are looking to lose weight, manage hormonal issues (like PCOS), conceive a child, avoid diabetes, have great skin, keep your teeth healthy, and spare yourself pancreatic issues then BREAK UP WITH SUGAR!
